So, I think we finally have the Halloween costume of choice set. She was insisting on being Aerial but her first costume was just to big for her little frame. It kept falling off her shoulders and it was so long, the best she could do was shuffle across the floor. So, three costumes later, he have one that fits and that she loves. And her wand lights up too. What a bonus. Bring on the candy!
It was our first day of school last week and Madison was excited about her brand new school outfits and her new backpacks (in which, of course, were merely a pair of child's sunglasses and a dish towel she insisted on playing with that morning). However, she was less excited about the actual day in class. It took her a little bit longer than everyone else to enter the room and remove her sweater and hang up her bag in her cubby. She watched suspisiously as the other kids ran in and approached the new toys and games. She required mommy to sit direcly next to her as she took her turn at the arts and crafts table. There were two of each stamp she was working with so mommy did one and she did one. When is was about time to clean up, Madison was beginning to get into the other toy areas in the room. When it was circle time and she was asked how she felt, she said she wanted to go home. When it was snack time, she stayed on the circle mat and when all the kids had finished their snacks, she decided that what they were eating did in fact look tasty. So, when all was said and done, she completed her first day having approached everything in her own time and way. And made sure to observe carefully everyone else doing things before she decided it was safe to go ahead and try them herself. That's my girl.
So, I had a lengthy ultrasound yesterday morning and here are the newest picture of the newest England. (S)he was dancing around like a monkey and headbanging and thrashing his/her hands. Don't know if it was the personality or a thank you dance for mama's consumption of a blueberry muffin for breakfast.
